This policy explains how Senior Assist The Villages handles information when you browse our directory, create an account, submit a business profile, send an inquiry, or purchase paid placement. It applies to this website, not to independently operated businesses or linked websites.
Information we collect
Accounts: We collect the name, email address, and password you provide when registering. Passwords are stored in hashed form, not as readable passwords. We maintain account identifiers and authentication information needed to sign you in. When Google sign-in is enabled and you choose it, Google provides your name, verified email address, profile picture (if available), and account identifier. We store the linked sign-in record and authentication tokens needed for that connection; we do not receive your Google password. A Google account with the same verified email may be linked to your existing website account.
Business profiles: We collect business and contact names, public email addresses, phone numbers, websites, descriptions, services, communities served, categories, optional business address cards, logos, optional business photos, requested plans, and review information. Directory information may also come from business websites and other publicly available sources.
Inquiries: We collect your name, email address, optional phone number, message, and the listing or request type associated with your inquiry. Please do not include medical records, financial account details, passwords, or other sensitive information in messages or public profiles.
Billing: Stripe handles payment details on its hosted checkout and billing pages. Our application stores customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, checkout references, and billing-related records. We do not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
Technical information: Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request timestamps, and error logs to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the website.
How information is used
We use information to operate the directory, authenticate accounts, review business submissions and ownership claims, publish approved listings, respond to requests, administer subscriptions, send service and billing notices, prevent misuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Inquiry forms send information to the directory administrator for handling; submitting a listing inquiry does not automatically deliver it directly to the listed business. If you ask us to connect you with a business, relevant contact details and request information may be shared to fulfill that request.
Public listings and service providers
Approved business details are published in the directory. Logos, approved business photos, and business address cards may appear according to the active listing tier. Photos awaiting review are available only to the account owner and administrators; approved photos are displayed publicly only with Premium placement. Public information can be viewed, copied, or indexed by others, including search engines. Do not submit a private home address or other details you do not want published.
We use service providers for hosting, database and file storage, authentication infrastructure, email delivery, and payment processing, including Abacus.AI and Stripe. They process information needed to provide those services under their own applicable terms and privacy practices. Information may be processed in locations outside your state or country.
We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the security of the service. Links to partner sites do not by themselves authorize us to give those sites your private account or inquiry information.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses authentication cookies and related technologies needed for sign-in, security, and basic operation. Hosting and payment providers may use their own technologies when you interact with their services. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking required cookies may prevent account or billing features from working.
Google Analytics
When configured, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, popular pages, and website engagement. Google may process page URLs, referring websites, browser and device information, approximate location, and cookie identifiers. We do not intentionally send account names, email addresses, passwords, payment details, or inquiry messages as analytics event data. Our Google tag disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals.
Google processes information under its Privacy Policy. You can manage cookies in your browser or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from browsing the directory or using email-and-password sign-in.
Retention and security
We retain account, listing, inquiry, and billing-related information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve requests or disputes, maintain business records, and comply with applicable requirements. Canceling paid placement does not automatically delete your account, Basic listing, or records. Backup copies and records required for legal or accounting purposes may remain after a deletion request.
We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use.
Your choices and requests
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, or ask about rights available under laws that apply to you. We may need to verify your identity or business authority before acting. Some information may need to be retained, and removal from this website does not guarantee removal from independent search caches or copies.
Use your Business Account to manage an active subscription. Privacy or account-deletion requests do not substitute for cancellation of recurring billing. Essential account and billing notices may still be sent while a subscription remains active.
Children and external websites
The directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and address it. Listed businesses, partner sites, and payment providers have separate privacy practices; review their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
For privacy questions or requests, use the website inquiry form or email [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the relevant account or listing, but do not send passwords or payment-card details.
